On the twenty second of July, the cruise ship Michail Frunze welcomed aboard the participants of the international conference Volga Neuroscience Meeting 2018. More than 200 scientists came to Russia this July to share the latest advancements in neuroscience. The meeting was organized by Lobachevsky University
On November 27, 2017 the Grant Board of the Government of the Russian Federation announced the names of 35 leading scientists who had won the sixth open grant competition of the Government of the Russian Federation. The grant competition was established to provide governmental support to scientific research projects implemented under the supervision of the world's leading scientists at Russian universities, research institutions of the governmental academies of sciences and governmental research centers of the Russian Federation.

Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation notifies of an open 6 competition for grants of the Government of the Russian Federation for state support of scientific research conducted under the auspices of leading scientists in Russian educational institutions of higher education, scientific institutions subordinate to the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations, and state scientific centers of the Russian Federation.
The IV National Exhibition and Forum "VUZPROMEKSPO-2016" took place in Moscow, on December 14 and 15, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. More than 100 leading universities, 35 engineering centers and 50 industrial companies from all over Russia introduced 1500 joint innovations made in the framework of a number of federal programs.
The conference "Science of the Future" is expected to be visited not only by the representatives of existing laboratories working on "megagrants" program, but also by the participants of the 5th competition for getting the Russian Government grants for state support of scientific research conducted under the guidance of leading scientists.
Grant Board has identified 242 finalists of the fifth open grant competition for receiving megagrants according to the results of the first round of the evaluation of proposals.
The Grant Board of the Government of the Russian Federation is currently analysing the applications for the 5th «mega-grants» competition for scientific projects conducted in Russian educational and research institutions and headed by the leading scientists. According to the result of the application review, the finalists of the 5th «mega-grants» competition will be determined. After the international expert evaluation The Grant Board will make the decision on the winners of the «mega-grants» competition.
